Food pantries have taken a hit in recent years, with shrinking donations and growing needs. As the holidays draw near, it’s the perfect opportunity to step up and lend a hand. This year, the OCCU Foundation is joining with OCCU cardholders to help those in our community who need a hand.
The OCCU Foundation is the charitable arm of OCCU, dedicated to our vision of enriching lives. Since its start in 2018, the foundation has donated more than $1 million in charitable gifts that support the health, education and basic needs of our community. Let’s keep the momentum going as the holidays approach!
Together we can make a real difference in our communities.
Here’s our plan:
From Nov. 15 through Dec. 31, 2021, when use your OCCU credit card for grocery and grocery delivery purchases, the OCCU Foundation will donate to a local food bank. Our goal is to raise $15,000 – the equivalent of 45,000 meals.
How does it work?
Whenever you visit or order from your favorite grocery store, pay with your NICE Perks®, Duck Card or Beaver Card. We’ll donate 1 cent for every dollar you spend, up to our goal of $15,000.
Which organizations will benefit?
The donations will be divided equally among Food for Lane County, Marion Polk Food Share and Wilsonville Community Sharing. These three organizations have been instrumental in helping our neighbors through tough times.
How long does it last?
Your credit card grocery purchases will keep earning donations through Dec. 31, 2021, or until we hit our goal of $15,000. You can track our progress by following us on Facebook.
One of the things we love most about our community is the way people come together to support each other. If you’re buying groceries or having groceries delivered, reach for your OCCU credit card. So when you feed your family, you feed your community, too!
**Donations will be calculated based on one cent per dollar spent until the donation goal of $15,000 is reached. The duration of this promotion is Nov. 15 through Dec. 31, 2021.
